... will remain to be seen just what this will mean for fuel prices on MacLaren.
Now onto a story of some interest to those plying the trade routes along the outer Rim. Ng, Petrovich and Cullen Agricultural Ventures Limited announced the acquisition of two thousand hectares of prime farm land on Botany Bay.
"We gained clear title to the land from the primary colony's administration after being able to demonstrate abandonment of the property by the prior title holder," A spokesperson for NPC told our reporter. "We suspect the previous owner abandoned the land due to the costs necessary to maintain the number of crops she was growing. Word on the street was that the entire property was farmed by just one woman using hand tools. Clearly a rumor started by the owner in order to obfuscate official records and hide the usage of illegal farm workers..."
In a related note, a single woman was found working in the field. Although she claimed to be the property holder, a woman who apparently went by the single name of Gail, the woman, possibly one of the illegal workers NPC's spokesperson talked about, had no identification materials and was remanded to the colony's authorities. It was then discovered that the woman, who's name is being witheld until her identity can be verified, was implanted with a cortical implant, commonly known as a 'slave chip,' and had no registered owner or locale listed in the chip's data. While ITN does not condone the practice of human slavery, it recognizes that the practice is legal in several regions; including the area that contains Botany Bay's star system.
The woman is being held by colony authorities at this time.
